Kendal Town 5 – 1 Gretna FC 2008, Friendly Saturday July 25 2015-07-26



Kendal Town from the 8th tier of English football kicked off this friendly 40 minutes late due to the late arrival of the officials. Gretna joined in considerably later.

By which time Kendal were four goals to the good courtesy of their lively attacking pair of Connorton and Wilking who bagged a brace apiece. Had they not spurned the chances offered them by the Gretna defence they could have made it forty.

Dean Rea got one back for Gretna just before half time from a well taken free kick. With Connorton and Wilking being two of a number of substitutions made by the Evo-Stick Northern Premier Division 1 side some of the danger passed for the visitors who continue nevertheless to make heavy weather of proceedings.

Kendal heaped further indignity on 2008 just before the final whistle when Sam Bailey scored a free kick from 40 yards which whistled past Parker.
