The home side got off to a nervy start missing several chances before Joe Slattery headed home a Nick Cassidy corner to open the scoring, 1-0.

Jordan Barker was next to have the ball in the YMCA net but was rightly ruled offside in the 20th.minute. The home support didn’t have to wait too long for Gretna’s second this time it was Scott Milligan running onto a Dean Rea pass before slotting the ball into the net beyond Porter making it two nil.

Goal number three came after Slattery ran from half way and rounded Porter before slotting into the empty net, 3-0.
YMCA hardly crossed into the Gretna half of the pitch during the first period and when they did Jamie Greenall took care of anything that came his way. Just before the interval David Renyard was brought down in the area and Scott Milligan converted the resultant penalty kick, 4-0 H/T.

The second half continued where Gretna had left off with goal number five coming from Scott Milligan, claiming his hat trick on fifty-five minutes. David Renyard blew a great chance when he tried too hard to burst the net with a shot and the ball flew into the stand.

First substitution for Gretna was Iain Anderson on for Scott Milligan in the 60th.minute. Both Renyard and Slattery missed good opportunities to increase the scoring thanks mainly to heroic saves by Porter as his defence collapsed in the second half. Dean Rea added goal number six from close range in the 62nd.minute.

Second substitution for Gretna was Brandon Longcake for Nick Cassidy in the 66th.minute. Iain Anderson ran behind the YMCA defence and his shot flew across the goalmouth just wide of the far post. In the 70th. minute Joe Slattery completed his hat trick from the edge of the six yard box to make the score 7-0.
YMCA struggling to hold any shape were torn apart by a rampant home side and further goals from David Renyard probably goal of the match, Iain Anderson, Daniel Graham probably his first for the club and Brandon Longcake finished the scoring at 11-0, F/T.
