GretnabFC 2008 Youth Academy

MINUTES OF THE GRETNA FC 2008 YOUTH ACADEMY COMMITTEE MEETING HELD ON THURSDAY 2nd OCTOBER, 2014 AT THE GABLES HOTEL, GRETNA, AT 7PM.

PRESENT- ALEX MCMORRAN (CHAIR), EDDIE DUFF (VICE CHAIR), JOSH PEACOCK (SECRETARY), CLAIR WARD (TREASURER),GILLIAN SMITH, HELEN NELSON, JON REAY (COMMITTEE MEMBERS)

ABSENTEES- Helen Byers and Amanda Sword send their apologies for being absent.

1.      A letter to all parents and potential new players has been drafted up. This letter contains details of training nights for all age groups, information on ordering training kit for all players and costs, sizes for kit and the web address for all parents to be kept up to date.

2.      Eddie Duff has said he will set up the academy Facebook page soon.

3.      It was agreed that training can be paid for in block bookings of £10 for 6 weeks. As an incentive to parents we are offering the chance to get one week free if they pay in a block booking.

4.      It was agreed that a form will be made up to give to parents of current players which will ask for sizes for each garment of training kit. This has to be returned from parents asap as the kit will be ordered in November.

5.      Sponsorship was discussed. It was agreed that we would seek to find 3 kit sponsors who will represent an age group each. These sponsors will have their logo displayed on the home kit, a link placed on the club website, mentions on the club facebook page, an interview with the press officer to be displayed on the club website and the opportunity to invite the local paper down to take photographs with the sponsor and kids wearing the kit. It will also be a 2 year sponsorship deal. Josh Peacock will be approaching sponsors in due course.

6.      We hope to ask Gretna Social Club if we can use their Big Room as the venue for our upcoming Christmas party. Josh will ask the club if this is available.

7.      It has been agreed that the minutes from each meeting should be sent to Jim Rowley to be displayed on the club website and on the notice board in Gretna Social Club if possible.

NEXT MEETING- THE NEXT MEETING WILL BE HELD ON 30^th OCTOBER, 2014 IN THE GABLES HOTEL AT 7PM.
