Gretna FC 2008 head to
Castle Douglas on a high this Saturday following a hat trick of wins in the
Scottish Lowland League.
Preston Athletic were
the latest team to feel the effects of the amazing turnaround engineered by
manager Stuart Rome in the Border club's fortunes. The Prestonpans pitch has
suffered from the ravages of the winter weather and a very difficult surface
mitigated against free flowing football. Yet Gretna stuck to their task and
battled for a good victory and yet another clean sheet. Goals from Anderson and
Wadge were again responsible for full points coming back to Raydale.
Team: Parker, Casey,
Rea, White, Inglis, Renyard, Addison, Crozier, Wadge, McMath, Anderson
Subs - Graham D.Graham C .Smith Wood Liddell.
Saturday's opponents,
Threave Rovers, sit bottom of the Lowland League with a solitary win. But the
Hoops will not be taking the game lightly. Both sides have a number of players
who have played for either team and there are serious bragging rights at stake.
Games between these two teams are always tightly contested and no matter how
they are faring, Rovers always step up a notch or tow against Gretna.
Should be an encounter
worth savouring.
